TASCO AND 3M PRESENT 2006 3M TOP SHOP AWARDS

Tasco Auto Color and the 3M Top Shop Innovation Partners

The 3M Top Shop program makes use of 3M automotive products and Global Best Practice Systems to reach an overall goal of customer satisfaction excellence. Working closely with 3M and Tasco Auto Color personnel, the Top Shop Improvement Program is an attempt to move the relationship between supplier, distributor, and body shop to a higher level. A major aspect of this program is making the “best” use of 3M and Tasco sales representatives in helping each shop be as profitable as they can. This would be the goal with every direct contact 3M and Tasco has with each shop’s technicians. Another important aspect of this program is to establish and codevelop, with the shop’s help, better use of the Internet in order to better communicate with each other in-between visits from the 3M and Tasco reps. Technician Training modules, I-CAR Industry Training Alliance Member updates, New Product and Promotional introductions, OSHA Respiratory Compliance Program updates, MSDS availability, and the After Market Rewards Rebate/Loyalty Points Program are just a few areas 3M and Tasco hopes an Internet connection can enhance the relationship.

There are four driving forces that 3M and Tasco Auto Color continue to focus on with the Top Shop program:

1. The body shop’s customer, the vehicle owner, after being in an accident, requires their vehicle to be restored to at least a pre-crash condition. This is especially true these days, when one looks at vehicle values when compared to just 5 years ago.

2. The body shop’s technicians, who are often paid on billable labor hours produced, desire products and systems that help them do the job right the first time and as quickly as they can. Right the first time means less redo’s and less comebacks. 3M and Tasco know that redo’s and comebacks negatively impact your profits, cycle time and customer satisfaction (CSI).

3. Recognition that the largest cost you incur is labor and our understanding that labor is where a large percentage of a shop’s profits are generated. 3M and Tasco Auto Color are focused on developing products and systems (Global Best Practices) that help maximize a shop’s labor profitability.

4. The 3M Supplier and Tasco distributor, who will continue to meet a shop’s needs for material inventory cost management, just in time delivery, and providing new product/promotional and technical information.

For a body shop, making use of the 3M Global Best Practice Systems and automotive products can mean a world of difference in profits, cycle time, and customer satisfaction. Together, 3M and Tasco Auto Color challenge you to become a Top Shop Award winner and achieve a status of excellence in your area.
